A TOUCH OF MILANESE SOPHISTICATION
A SWOON-WORTHY BOUTIQUE HOTEL DESIGNED BY WORLD ACCLAIMED PATRICIA URQUIOLA
There’s a new pulse beating in Milan’s Brera district and it’s housed within the marble and glass of Casa Brera, the latest addition to The Luxury Collection. Designed by Patricia Urquiola, the hotel is an ode to Milanese design: refined, intelligent, and quietly bold. Set in a restored 1950s Rationalist building by architect Pietro Lingeri, Casa Brera fuses architectural precision with artistic warmth. Inside, Urquiola’s design language unfolds like a conversation between eras. Sleek geometric lines are softened by curved furniture and rich, tactile materials — walnut wood, green ceramic lamps, hand-printed glass. Throughout, bold patterns and saturated tones nod to Milan’s postwar modernism, while custom furniture and artwork by Italian artisans root the space in craftsmanship. The mirrored lobby lounge feels like a contemporary salon, a place for design enthusiasts and Milan’s creative crowd to gather over Negronis and ideas.
The 101 rooms and 15 suites are serene yet characterful, marrying elegance with intimacy. Some open onto terraces overlooking Brera’s rooftops, while others frame the soft geometry of the city’s skyline. Every detail feels deliberate — from terracotta vases and marble surfaces to the subtle layering of light that shifts from morning clarity to evening glow. Dining unfolds across four venues: Scena for refined Italian cooking, Etereo on the rooftop for seafood and sunset cocktails, and Odachi, where Chef Haruo Ichikawa’s omakase brings a touch of Tokyo to Milan. The Living Lounge anchors the hotel’s social life, perfect for aperitivo or a late-night amaro.
