THE VENETIAN “ART-DE-VIVRE”
ONLY A FEW STEPS FROM SAN MARCO SQUARE, THE NOLINSKI MERGES A REFRESHING, CONTEMPORARY SIDE TO VENETIAN GLAMOUR
Once home to the city’s Stock Exchange, this 1920s palazzo has been meticulously reimagined by French-Italian design duo Lecoadic-Scotto. The building’s Art Nouveau details — sculpted chimeras, sweeping arches — set the stage for interiors where liberty-style flourishes, modernist lines, and curving forms coexist in perfect harmony. Marble inlays, jewel-toned velvets, and gleaming brass celebrate Venetian craftsmanship with a cosmopolitan twist. Each space feels deeply Venetian, yet distinctly modern.
Life inside the palazzo unfolds at a slower rhythm. The Library Bar is the beating heart of the hotel: 4,000 books, amber light, Simon Buret’s fresco overhead, and a Negroni in hand. Downstairs, Il Caffè invites leisurely Mediterranean-style lunches beneath mirrored ceilings and bold artworks, while chef Philip Chronopoulos brings his Michelin-starred touch to the Palais Royal Restaurant, crafting dishes that bridge Venice and Paris with effortless grace.
When it’s time to unwind, the Spa takes you to another level, perched above the rooftops with sweeping city views. Its pièce de résistance — a gold-mosaic jacuzzi framed by Ottoman-inspired arches — is an ode to Venetian opulence and the city’s timeless devotion to beauty.
